Today Im going to share on our budget for trip to Perth ( 4 of us ) on 21st-25th July 2017
( during winter but there's no snow in Perth but it's actually pretty cold for Malaysian ) and yes, our total budget including flight ticket is RM2k per person. ( multiple 0.33 to get AUD )
We decided not to rent car and instead book a daytrip with local people and use public transport. Our budget also include the return ferry ticket to Rottnest Island - place where we can meet quokka, so if you dont wanna go there, your budget could be a lot cheaper!
Meet Quokka! The happiest animal on Earth! |
So in short, RM2k include :-
1. Malindo flight ticket : RM 734.38/person ( booked during promo, you can get a lot cheaper if you book Airasia, but I want Malindo because they served you rice and give you all the blanket blabla and free 30kg luggage hahahhah )
2. Visa : RM 25 ( We did this online, but later on I found out that it can be cheaper of RM20, well maybe need to google more on that )
3. Accomodation book via Airbnb for 5 days 4 nights for 4 persons :-
Total : RM 1520
Per person : RM 380
We chose Osborne Park for accommodation because the access to public transport is quite easy from there, but then I think better for you guys to stay in Perth CBD (city) as it can save you more money on transport and your itinerary would be much more flexible
4. Return ferry ticket to Rottnest Island : AUD 79 [RM 261.33]
( Price in MYR is quite different as at that time rates was different as book earlier and it's online transaction but actually you can get cheaper price on Tuesday. Yup, if Im not mistaken, it costs only AUD 39 on Tuesday. Other options are you can go by boat or by private plane. Psst if you guys are >4 try to usha private plane or heli haha )

5. Daytrip package from local company : AUD 119 [RM 392.70]
- Full Day Tour to Caversham Wildlife, Lancelin Beach & Dunes and The Pinnacle
- Price: $119 AUD per person
- Lunch included (halal food)
- Entrace fees included
- Time of the tour: 8.00 am to 6.00 pm
- Payment type: Cash to the driver
6. Optus Simcard : AUD 10 [RM 33.30]
(Oklah you get 500mb per day, more than enough to make lots of instastory hahaha)
7. Public Transport : TOTAL : AUD 26.4 [ RM 87.12 ]
Day 1 :
- Upon arrival took Transperth Bus 380 from airport to Elizabeth Quay: AUD 4.7
- Train to Glandelough Station standard : AUD 3.1
- Took taxi from Glandelough st to our house at Osborne Park : AUD 3.5 per person
Day 2 :
- Bought Family Rider ticket for 2 zones where AUD 12.6 for 2 person so : AUD6.3/person
Day 3 :
- Family Rider : AUD 6.3
Day 4 (booked daytrip, pick up from our house, no expenses for public transport )
Day 5 :
- Taxi : AUD 2.5/person
8. Kailis Fish& Chips : AUD 17.5 [ RM 57.75 ]
(The price is for 2 fillets, it's a large portion and recommended for 2 person Malaysian stomach haha. You can go for 1 fillet, if I'm not mistaken it costs AUD 11.5, oh yes you can choose to eat at Kailis or Cicerello or Joe's, one more advice, do bring your KFC chili sauce mini packet hahah , they dont have it and need to pay for other selection of sauce)
TOTAL : RM 1938.28 ( I rounded it to RM2k for space of one kebab and ice cream : ) )
The total cost above is pretty much the basic cost, of course if you want to try different kind of food, you need to bring extra money--and dont forget your shopping expenses too. Warning! Ladies, you might go crazy if you visit Watertown Brands Outlet or Chemist Warehouse.
But as I said earlier, price can go way cheaper if you plan it wisely and if you have credit card, better take Uber. Oh yes, if you want to call for taxi, just use the public phone- available at train station and dial 100 -if I'm not mistaken.
Thats all for now. Enjoy your trip :)
